Biking
In Spring and Fall on select dates we meet for a bike ride through different forest preserves and Open Lands. The bike rides are generally 1.5 - 2.5 hours long and are not difficult or fast. Open to all levels.

Book Discussion Group
Join us each month for an enjoyable book discussion at a member's home or local restaurant. 

Creative Chicks
These ladies pursue a variety of unique and interesting hands-on creative activities on an occasional basis. Cost varies based on activity.

Empty Nesters Apple PickingEmpty Nesters
Newcomers with high school-aged children or older, or members without children, couples and singles are all welcome. This adventurous group hosts dinners out, daytime gatherings, ventures into the city and more. 

Evening Socials
With approximately four events per year, Evening Socials are special get-togethers, usually themed or holiday-related.  Past events include Holiday Dinner/Dance, Progressive Dinners, Clam Bake, Halloween  Party and more.

Explorers!
 Explorers
Each week, join us for approximately one hour of hiking in one of the beautiful Forest Preserves or Open Lands in our area. We will choose the activity based on weather and snow conditions. Our goal is to get a bit of exercise while enjoying the outdoors.

Golf
The Ladies Golf League plays once a week from April through October, in partnership with our sister club, Encore. We play at Deerpath Golf Course. Players may play 9 or 18 holes. All levels welcome. We also enjoy golf luncheons, too!

Good Food & Friends
This casual monthly luncheon (most fourth Fridays of the month) at a member’s home, is a great way to meet new neighbors and connect with friends. We enjoy a delicious lunch from local restaurants.

Gourmet Group
Gourmet Group gets together every other month at a member's home to enjoy a themed dinner.  Each couple is assigned a recipe by the organizers that they prepare and bring.

Home Tours
We assemble a group of Newcomers to enjoy some of our area Home Tours together. Past excursions have included the Woodlands Winter Wonderwalk and the Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens. Occasionally we arrange private Newcomers tours of landmark buildings in the area. Fee varies.

ICGroup 2013International Connections
We’re a group of people who are from abroad or at some time lived outside the U.S. We share our international perspectives and ideas, and help each other make the transition to a new place. We host luncheons and other international-themed events about once per month. 

Knitcomers
Our knitting group meets regularly to relax, chat, catch up...and knit! All levels welcome, we're happy to teach beginners.

Ladies Nite Out
Each month Ladies Nite Out is a fun evening of catching up, laughter, wine and nibbles at a member's home. It’s casual...come as you are. Meet new members and visit with old friends. Food and drink provided by attendees.

Luncheons Luncheon
Newcomers' monthly luncheons are held at local restaurants and clubs. Members are encouraged to attend if possible. It's also a great way to get familiar with the dining options in and around town. Cost varies.

Mah Jongg
Mah Jongg is a tile game where you try to form a hand before your opponent does. We typically meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month. All levels are welcome and we teach beginners.

Men’s Group
Men's Group organizes occasional get-togethers just for the boys.

Moms & Tots
Moms, come bring your kids to a fun play group!  We have two to four meetings each month. Targeting ages 0 - 6 years, but all siblings are welcome.

Skiing

Tennis
Tennis anyone? Get out to just hit or play on local courts.

Volunteer Group
This group will meet regularly to assist local charities and organizations in need of volunteers. A great way to help out the community while making new friends.

 

Wine Tasting WineTasting Fall 2013
A great night out for couples or friends to sample and learn about wine. Meets about every other month. Cost varies.

Winter Fun
During winter months, this adventurous group meets once a week to ski, ice skate or snowshoe. Fee applies for admittance and equipment rental, if necessary.

Yoga
This basic level flow class meets weekly and offers an introduction to asanas (postures), pranayama (breath) and dristhi (gaze). This class is designed to introduce the fundamental asanas and introduce the vinyasa form of yoga (flowing from one posture to the next, motivated by breath), as well as Surya Namaskar A & B (sun salutations).  $10 per session.
